Books, Art...and Beer?
Yes, books, art, and beer. Three of my favorite things in life and a great combination that came together at the Enumclaw Beer Walk on an evening in early June. I was thrilled to be invited to have an author table at the Arts Alive! Studio and Gallery on Cole Street and, as I was there, I thought to myself that I was in the presence of three of my favorite things: art, beer and books. There were two other indie authors there and it was fun to not only talk books and indie business with them, but to come home with their books that I'm looking forward to reading. It was a great turnout, a fun evening talking to those in attendance sampling the craft beer and those stopping by our book tables. Enumclaw is an adorable country town set up against the foothills of the Cascade Mountains. You would pass through it on the way to ski Crystal Mountain. Or by taking the back road on your way to an outdoor concert at the White River Amphitheatre. It's a town surrounded by quiet pastures of grazing horses and cows, farmhouses with long private driveways, older homes with blooming gardens and in the distance the view of Mt. Rainier. But one of the overall highlights of my evening there in June was spending time with two of my dearest friends who I've known most of my life. The evening ended all too soon, but it was one for the memory book.
