Destiny has a funny way of bringing two people together

​When Marianne and Jack first meet, it couldn’t be more awkward…for Marianne, that is. Jack has no problem with a woman landing on top of him. Despite their chemistry, each has their own reason not to get involved. Marianne has had enough trouble since returning to her childhood hometown on Orcas Island, her sister won’t talk to her, and someone has left a note on her gate hinting that she has ‘traitor in her blood’. Jack is hoping to make time on the island short-lived as he checks out the property left to him by his grandfather. Avoiding each other isn’t to be when an old tale of stolen jewels resurfaces linking their grandfathers and it’s going to take the two of them to get to the bottom of it. But first they need an arrangement. Jack’s good at hunting bad guys but has no place to stay. Marianne has a big house with rooms to spare but also has her sister to worry about. Being this close, it’s soon clear that solving the mystery might be easier than trying not to fall for the other.​
